Flu Season

October is the start of flu season throughout Dallas and rest of the country. What can you do to keep yourself and your loved ones healthy this season? Here are some updated tips from the CDC. This year, the nasal spray version of the vaccine is not being recommended for use. Rather, the tried and true flu shot is the way to go. For children, a shot can be a little scary – be prepared to hold your little one’s hand, and consider bringing a band-aid with his or her favorite character for a little fun. Make sure and talk to your doctor about which version of the vaccine is best for your child, as recommendations vary based on age. If you are pregnant or nursing, you are still able to get the vaccine! If you have experienced an allergic reaction to the vaccine in the past, or have a known egg allergy, talk to your doctor before scheduling a flu shot. Call us today to discuss your flu vaccine!
