Healthy Habits – Floss
Though brushing your teeth may seem like a typical part of your daily routine, many people do not understand the full process involved. It is recommended that we brush and floss our teeth at least 3 times a day. If we don’t, bacteria can build up and rot away the enamel on your teeth, which will then expose them to infection or even complete erosion. As many people do brush their teeth thoroughly throughout the day, flossing seems like a less common habit that people follow. Be aware, flossing is just as important as brushing. This is a fact as many people don’t seem to understand as a toothbrush just can’t reach the nooks and crannies located in between your teeth, which is where most cavities form on many people. As flossing is fairly quick to do, we recommend you pick up the habit and add it to your routine if it isn’t already implemented. Teach your children to floss every time they brush, too. It is important that they start these habits early so that they can maintain healthier teeth for longer. Not only will you have healthier teeth when you floss out of habit, you won’t feel as guilty when the dentist asks when the last time you flossed was!
