It’s All Fun and Games Until…
Many young parents go through different experiences with their kids at early ages. One very normal thing that people go through is having to tell their kids not to do whatever they’re doing. Children see this as adults ruining their fun but never seem to realize that it’s for their own good. Don’t be afraid to put your foot down with your children in order for them to express good behavior. Many may see their kids having fun and have a laugh, but don’t realize that the actions their kids are doing could have a nasty impact. For example, rough housing is one of the most common occurrences that has to be stopped after a certain line has been crossed. It almost always leads to some sort of injury that can easily be prevented by a parent before it goes too far. One other common type of play that is overseen as potentially dangerous is hide-and-seek. What seems to be a fun game to play can sometimes spill over into unwanted scenarios. Hide-and-seek is fun at home or at a friend’s house for children, but to them, it can also seem fun in public. As a parent, this can be very stressful, as when in public places, the last thing you want to do is worry about where your young children are as only the worst scenarios cross your mind when they’re out of sight. It is important to inform your kids that games such as that and rough housing have limits, and won’t be tolerated under certain circumstances for their own safety. As these are not the only types of play that can be potentially harmful, pay attention to certain other activities your kids do, and always be cautious of their outcomes.
