Lice Treatment
Lice are tiny parasitic insects that spread by personal contact. They infest hair and clothing and become a big nuisance to many people. Symptoms can range from a tickling feeling on the head to itchiness all over the scalp. As children are highly exposed to large quantities of people all the time at school, they are subject to contracting lice. It is possible to be infected for weeks without even realizing it due to symptoms not being too prominent in the beginning stages. When checking for lice, the insects are small, but still visible to the human eyes. They look like little brownish bugs about the size of a sesame seed, and they lay eggs all over hair shafts called nits. As children can regularly have dirty hair, it can sometimes be difficult to tell the difference between lice and dandruff or dirt. If this is the case, use a fine comb to brush at the objects you see in their hair. Dandruff and dirt are fairly simple to remove, but lice and nits firmly attach themselves to the hair follicles, making them quite difficult to comb out. If you think you or a family member have lice, come in to the office and we can take a look! The more quickly you get rid of them, the less likely they will spread to other family members, friends or even into the carpet and furniture at your house.
