If you are one of the lucky few who have this Monday off for President’s day, don’t waste it binge watching TV shows. Instead, use your free time to improve your health. Here are a few suggestions in how you can do that:
1. Sleep in. Rest is essential for your body to recover. Take advantage of the fact that you do not have to be at work early and catch up on the sleep that you missed last week. Just make sure you don’t over sleep because it could end up making you feel more tired. Refer to our previous post about sleep to know exactly how long you should be sleeping for.
2. Workout. After a long day of work, it’s hard to work up the energy to put on your tennis shoes and go for a run. Commit an hour of your day off to working out and improving your fitness.
3. Clean your house. Dusting, sweeping, and disinfecting the entire house is not how most people want to spend there day off, but the results can be very beneficial to your health and productivity. Your home gathers dust particles and other germs that can be detrimental to your wellness. On top of rewarding your health, nothing bad has ever resulted from having a tidy home!
