As January comes to a close, Award Season has kicked into full swing. With the Golden Globes, the SAG Awards, and the Grammy’s we’ve launched full tilt into a season of film, music, and fashion. From this point clear through to mid-March, one can catch an award show every week or two. While it may be tempting to sit back and spend Award Show Sundays snacking on the couch, here are a few ways you can use this time of the year to kick your health into gear! If you are the type of person who is inspired by music, a great way to use this to your benefit is to find or build a playlist of this year’s nominated songs and albums. Take this playlist on the road, and get some steps in while becoming familiar with the year’s best music. Whether you decide to walk or run, your body (and your doctor!) will appreciate it! This same idea can be translated to the year’s most popular films – download the nominated films to your iPad or tablet, and hit the treadmill. Think of all of the miles you can log while simply walking through the length of a movie! Finding ways to pair enjoyable activities with your health and fitness goals can be a great motivator to put a little more focus on your health.
