Fight the Sniffles

While many of us in North Texas are celebrating the cooling temperatures, this change in the weather is often shortly followed by cold and flu season. Although seeing your doctor to get the flu vaccine is the best way to fight against flu, this will not stop the common cold. Luckily, there are plenty of things that you can do to help prevent the sniffles. The simplest of these preventative measures is washing your hands. Although you may have avoided cold and flu germs,not everyone around you has be so lucky! By washing your hands frequently, you can help make sure that you aren’t contacting or spreading bacteria that could lead to a cold. If you don’t have constant access to soap and water while you are out and about, bring along some hand sanitizer for a quick cleanse! Staying hydrated and eating a healthy, balanced diet will keep your immune system at it’s strongest, and ready to fight off any bacteria you may encounter. Finally, stay warm! By wearing a sweater or coat and keeping your body warm, you will allow your body to focus on keeping you healthy. Try these tips these fall, and help yourself fight off the sniffles.
