Happy April 15th! Have you filed your taxes?

Spring is a busy time for all of us – the weather is beautiful, school is winding down, and outdoor festivals can be found almost every weekend. If all of the fun of springtime has caused filing your taxes to slip your mind, no need to fear!

Although April 15th traditionally marks tax day here in the United States, the deadline to file was officially extended to April 18th for 2017. Why is that? It’s a combination of things, actually. This year, April 15th falls on a Saturday, and is quickly followed by Emancipation Day, a government holiday, on Monday April 17th.

If you’ve put off your taxes, the clock is still ticking. The IRS phone lines are open until 5pm this afternoon to answer any last minute questions. Just make sure you file by Tuesday!
