Baby Food Tips

Though babies are the most precious bundles of joy to enter our lives, they require an enormous amount of diligent and nonstop care. When it comes to picking what to feed them, finding the right food can be a difficult choice. We have a few tips for healthy ways to feed your infant as their body develops.

Breastfeed.

With a newborn baby, the best and most healthy way to feed them the nutrients they need is through breastfeeding. Try to avoid using a bottle or pacifier for at least 4 to 6 weeks. Now, this takes a lot of preparation on mom’s end, so keep in mind that it is in the best interest of your child! See a doctor ahead of delivery in order to have an idea of what is to come over the course of the first month or so after your child is born.

Make your own food.

Creating your own recipes with natural ingredients is the best way to make sure your child is on a healthy diet. Though buying jars and formulas from the store may be a little more convenient for you, they contain many different types of chemicals and preservatives that may not necessarily be bad for your child, but you won’t always know exactly what is in the foods you purchase. By cooking your own meals, you will know exactly what your baby will be ingesting, so you will have complete control over their diet, which will ultimately affect their wellness.

Burp your baby!

As goofy as it seems, it is very helpful to your child’s digestive process, and also just to keep them comfortable in general. When feeding, babies swallow a lot of air. This can cause a lot of discomfort, whether it results in a fit, or spitting up. The latter is what we want to avoid from a health perspective, since vomiting can lead to dehydration. Though spitting up is common and not horrible, we recommend burping your baby after every meal just to avoid the mess overall.

Your baby’s wellness is our number one priority, so we hope these tips are helpful!
